On 4th December 2025, an online meeting with the external legal and ethics advisors of the eBRAIN-Health project took place. In this context, CHARITE together with University of Vienna (UNIVIE) and Alzheimer Europe (AE) presented their work within the project and obtained feedback and guidance on the next steps within the project from the external experts. The legal and ethical advisors are accomplished figures from the fields of ethics, privacy and data protection law, and ICT technology.
Cyberspace Conference in Brno
Representing the eBRAIN-Health project, Klaudia Kwiatkowska and Alexandra Mǎrginean highlighted the legal status of synthetic data under the legal acts of the European Data Strategy, more specifically the Data Governance Act, Data Act and European Health Data Space. The presentation focused on the opportunities and challenges represented by synthetic data in medical research. In the context of the eBRAIN-Health project, synthetic data will be used to enrich machine learning and deep learning algorithms which will support early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases.
